Merry_Go_Round Museum Exhibit Opening (11:00AM - 5:00PM)
Sandusky, OH – Grab the Brass Ring Exhibit 2012. Grand opening party for the new exhibit at the Merry-Go-Round Museum. To help kick off the new exhibit, the original Armored Muller (1988 Stamp Horse), and Military Muller (Ghost Horse), will be on loan from Cedar Fair until the opening of Cedar Point. The two horses will be displayed in the Merry-Go-Round Museum lobby. Not only will this be a great chance to see the two original horses, but the Armored Horse will be displayed next to the original Dentzel Deer from the 1988 Postage Stamp. St. Patrick's Day At The Herschell Carrousel Museum (12:00PM - 4:00PM)
NORTH TONAWANDA, NY – Celebrate St. Patricks Day at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum. You don't have to be Irish to join in the fun. There will the a St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt off the fabled "pot of gold", and take a ride on the carrousel with a lucky leprechaun along the way. There will be Irish culture with a special performance at 2 pm by The McCarthy School of Irish Dance. Also, there will be crafts, snacks, and St. Patrick's Day history to round out the event. Saturday, March 10 from 12 pm - 4 pm. Admission is just $5.00 per person. Sorry, no coupons or passes accepted for this special event. The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum is a vital part of Western New York’s cultural and historic community. The museum’s collection is filled with rare and valuable artifacts that tell the story of an important local industry with national significance. The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, operated by the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier, is a premier national historic site that fosters an appreciation for the unique heritage of the carousel, band organ, and amusement device industries on the Niagara Frontier for people of all ages, so that it may be preserved, enjoyed and shared with future generations. Through educational, cultural, and recreational programming, visitors will experience the places, people, stories, and artifacts associated with the production of carousels, band organs and amusement devices on the Niagara Frontier. The museum is housed in the historic Allan Herschell Company Factory building at 180 Thompson Street, North Tonawanda. Hours vary seasonally. 2012 Operating Hours:January 2 – April 3: Closed for the season. Open for group tours (call or email in advance). April 4 – June 15: Spring Hours 12:00pm – 4:00pm, Wednesdays – Sundays; closed Mondays and Tuesdays. June 16 – September 4: Summer Hours 10:00am – 4:00pm, Mondays – Saturdays; 12:00pm – 4:00pm Sundays. September 5 – December 30: Fall Hours 12:00pm – 4:00pm, Wednesdays – Sundays; closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
