Forest Park (Queens), NY. New Yorkers of all ages can enjoy “An Evening Ride on the Historic 1910 Forest Park Carousel to End Alzheimer’s” on Friday, August 17th from 6:30PM - 8:30PM.
Historic carousels and the battle against Alzheimer's are a perfect fit, as the beautiful old carousels can't help but evoke positive memories of everyone’s childhood. The whirling lights, flashing colors, piping organ music, giggling children, and galloping horses remind everyone of a simpler time. The event will bring back those magical days of the past while fundraising for the future.
NY Carousel Entertainment, LLC, operator of the recently re-opened Forest Park Carousel, is proud to host these first annual evening fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter, donating one hundred percent of all proceeds from carousel rides that night to the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter.
Visitors will have unlimited carousel rides and face-painting for $10, or enjoy individual rides for $3 with all proceeds during the event going to benefit Alzheimer’s research. There will be lots more fun as well, with a raffle, including some great donated prizes, and guests will be amused by a magic show. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit one of New York City’s oldest carousels. This rare and beautiful piece of art was hand-carved by Daniel C. Muller in the early 1900s.
Snacks and refreshments will be available at the carousel concession.
