Public Art Project Seeks Carousel Artists
To Benefit Equine Therapy Program in Wisconsin
Welcome carousel artists. Last year's fundraising project, "Horsing Around Town", was a tremendous success and raised $168K for SMILES.
SMILES is a non-profit, tax exempt corporation founded in 1985, offering therapeutic and recreational horsemanship lessons to children and adults with disabilities. SMILES is excited to celebrate 25 years of service to the community. As a part of this year long celebration SMILES is again hosting a public art exhibit in Lake Geneva, WI. This summer promises an exquisite collection of carousel horses, both life size and table top sculptures.
Both local and national artists are invited to share their talents in the carousel display. The horse is, again, the celebrated figure. This magnificent creature is a blessing and cornerstone to the adults and children who participate, benefit and thrive within the SMILES curriculum.
Opportunities are available to sponsor one of these creative pieces and to help continue the work of SMILES programs. Contributions to this community building event as a Prancing Carousels Sponsor includes: The permanent display of your name/company name on a plaque that will accompany the sculpture you have sponsored. Carousel horses are to be displayed June 8, through September 4th, 2009. Recognition and commendation in SMILES Walking Maps, Color Catalogue, Auction Website, and SMILES website, feature articles, and related press. Tax deduction eligibility under SMILES' non-profit 501C3 organization status and a professional photograph of your sponsored artwork to display at home or business.
